St Mary’s Continuing Care is a purpose built care centre set in the semi-rural area of Burtonwood, near to the towns of Warrington and St Helens and close to local amenities.
St Mary’s has sixty-three beds in four separate units and specialises in catering for individuals suffering from Dementia, Continuing Care Mental Health, Acquired Brain Injury and Early Onset Dementia.
All rooms are single occupancy, ensuite and the aim of the centre is to provide personalised care seeking to optimise service users' quality of life and, where possible, to support recovery and rehabilitation. St Mary’s promotes service users’ empowerment throughout the centre by agreeing individual care plans and outcomes and ensuring a high level of involvement in determining and evaluating activities.
The centre provides twenty-four hour nursing and care staffing as well as in house hotel services, activity staff and administration with the aim of making the service user's stay as pleasant as possible. This is complemented by a multidisciplinary team of other professionals including Psychiatrists, Psychologists, Physiotherapists, Chiropodists, Opticians and GPs.
