Service Designer

I am an experienced service / system designer but that’s not how I started my career.

I started as a Producer (Project Manager) at Brann Interactive - a fast growing digital agency that was bought by Euro RSCG Circle then Havas. I then joined Orange Telecoms as a Product Manager where I was responsible for personalisation and profiling before heading up the digital team of Zurich Financial Services internal agency. I also worked part-time as a barman for ten years where I learnt to be a counsellor too!

I set up (what is now known as) Made Open in 2001 when I was 26: first as a traditional “creative marketing agency” then as a “service design practice” when we understood the real value of using our strategic, digital and creative skills to solve real-world problems.

For 15-20 years, I have looked into some incredible social and economic challenges and concluded that many of these challenges have recognisable fault lines that are often missed (or dismissed). Which led me to where I am today – the founder and CEO of a community technology company that gives people the power to create positive change, and a lot more besides.

This is something I wanted to create and it’s been quite a journey, with many more adventures ahead. I have a lot of things I hope to share in due course (when someone asks me). In the meantime, I'll keep listening and learning, and keep investing all my energies into Made Open.
